Whether by ACH, check, credit card or debit card, entering and managing payments has never been easier, faster, and more secure.

Part 1 of this multi-part series demonstrates just how easy it is to process a payment in the Collector System without having to duplicate data entry efforts.

Once your agent logs into the system and selects an account, they enter a simple “X” code to collect the payment. This will bring up the PaymentVision transaction types menu. Let’s collect an immediate ACH payment.

First, select the payer from the list of available payers on the account. Enter a bank account type. We’ll enter “C” for checking. Enter the bank routing number. This is the 9-digit number located at the bottom of the check. To safeguard against keystroke errors and fraud, PaymentVision verifies the bank routing number and returns the primary bank name. Enter the bank account number. This can also be located on the bottom of the check. PaymentVision verifies that the account is open, and in good standing. This helps avoid returns, and gives the user an opportunity to request another form of payment while the debtor is on the line.

In this case, the bank account has been denied. Let’s go back to the debtor record.

Notice the result of the bank account verification request has been noted. Let’s collect an immediate credit card payment instead.

Again, select a payer from the list of available payers on the account. Enter the card number, expiration date (in month and year format), and the security code from the back of the card. Select Enter to move forward. Next, enter the amount of the payment. Fees can be supported and are configurable. In this case, there is no fee. Select Enter to move forward, and F for file.

Within seconds, PaymentVision returns an authorization response. In this case, our payment has been approved. Let’s go back to the debtor record.

Notice the result of the payment request has been recorded. Next, we’ll enter a series of future dated payments. Let’s use a different debtor record this time.

Again, enter the “X” code to bring up the PaymentVision transaction types menu. From the PaymentVision menu, select future dated credit card payments. Enter the card number, expiration date (in month and year format), and the security code from the back of the card. Select “Enter” to move forward. Next, enter payment dates and amounts. Select Enter to move forward, and “F” for file.

Within seconds, PaymentVision returns an authorization response. In this case, the card has been approved and PaymentVision has issued a token, which is like a substitute for the original card number. Our future dated payments can be processed against the token without the liability of storing the actual credit card information.

By not storing card data in your business environment, your PCI-DSS certification requirements would be significantly reduced. Let’s go back to the debtor record.

Notice our future dated payments have been noted.

As a user of the Collector System, you are eligible for all these enhancements.
